Making money on the Internet is easy. So says, the "Rich Jerk". Having read Mr Jerk's e-book, I can tell you that he really is a jerk. Mr Jerk (we don't know his real name) states in the very first paragraph:

"You may think that some of my strategies may be morally/ethically questionable".

He's right. I do. What concerns me the most is after reading his advice on SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which is generally good advice, he goes on to say that he no longer bothers with those techniques because they are:

a) too much work, and

b) he now uses a search engine spamming technique known as "cloaking"

Cloaking is basically a deceptive technique which delivers one page to search engine spiders and a totally different one to human visitors. Search engines will usually ban your site if they discover you are cloaking. But this doesn't seem to bother Mr Jerk.

Another concern is his endorsement of a page generation program called Traffic Equalizer. I know about TE. I tried it once on a couple of sites. It worked great. Increased traffic many times over. Until Google banned those sites. I'm still trying to undo the mess that created. Obviously, I no longer endorse TE.

Now, TE's creator, Jeff Alderson, is a pretty good guy. He's created a lot of good products, many of which I do use and recommend, such as AdWords Analyzer. But Traffic Equalizer is HIGH RISK. If you can live with the risk and build multiple websites, go for it. But don't use it on your one, main, income producing website that you've spent many hours creating. Be warned!

Back to Mr Jerk...

I have to admit, even though this book really is left of centre, there are some truly unique and very effective techniques which you can adopt. His advice on writing AdWords had me smiling from ear to ear and thinking "yes, you're absolutely right". If you're a believer in not doing what everyone else does as a means to success, then give this book a try.

And here's the thing. Mr Jerk really is rich. There is a link on the sales page to a graphic which shows some of his Paypal, Clickbank and affiliate program earnings that will make your eyes water.

Do I Recommend You Buy The Rich Jerk?

In a word, no. I really don't like Mr Jerk or some of his techniques. But, you can't deny their effectiveness and the successes he has achieved. There are also some original and ethical techniques. The Rich Jerk is no scam, which is what some people have eluded to.

But, for the asking price, I found the total amount of usable and unique info to be a bit thin. Really, the whole book is a bit thin, and for me doesn't live up to the promise. Another reason is, I found something a whole lot better! It's called Day Job Killer, and frankly, it eats The Rich Jerk.

Day Job Killer is written by a British marketer known as Chris (another marketer who doesn't like his name widely known). Chris had previously written a book called Affiliate Project X, which I bought and have probably read more times than any other info-book I've purchased on the Web. More importantly, I've tried some of his techniques and they work.

A Better Alternative to the Rich Jerk - Day Job Killer

Day Job Killer is a follow up to Affiliate Project X and builds on the techniques used in that book. Now, before you consider buying DJK you need to know that it's not aimed at beginning affiliate marketers. Chris freely admits that the techniques are "pull no punches" and "take no prisoners". It's full on, and like The Rich Jerk, some techniques could be considered less than completely ethical. But if you want to make money, and use techniques that really work...

If you have no idea what affiliate marketing is I suggest you start off with Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook. This will give you a good understanding of how affiliate marketing works. But when you're ready for the hard hitting stuff, get Day Job Killer. You won't regret it.
